A GT Catastrophe (Lite)

Just kidding, everyone is fine, but we have had some concerns. If you’ve ever followed along with a Glass Tangerine staff hangout, then you know that we tend to have some rough luck. From the many misadventures from last year’s staff retreat, to almost being drowned at my own bachelorette on Dale Hollow lake, we are no strangers to high stress situations when we all get together. Seeing as this post is coming at you live from our 2025 annual staff retreat, you can imagine where this is going.

To preface, we’re all fine. No storm has threatened to blow us away this year. However, Sunday morning as we were trying to leave, my rescue puppy, Sandy, was alarmingly sick. On the first trip away from my husband and puppy since being married, I’m trying to figure out if my puppy needs to go to an emergency vet. I’ll spare you the details, and my near-breakdown in the Knoxville Trader Joe’s and just tell you that Sandy Butter had emergency surgery to remove a blockage in her stomach/intestines a couple of days ago. My little trash goblin chose to eat plastic. Sandy, I hope it was worth it. She’s home sleeping soundly now, and getting to eat plenty of chicken, very slowly.

Aside from the Sandy scare, we then discovered that Aspen’s card had been hacked, and she had to cancel it while we all sat and listened. The important thing is that we’re all alive, relatively healthy, and planning for a really fun 2025. We’ll be coming back to Cookeville tomorrow, so maybe send us good vibes to ensure a calm, safe return trip. Be looking for next week’s post where we’ll really dive into some of our shenanigans from staff retreat. (With photo evidence)

Have a lovely Wednesday, and be safe in the snow this weekend!
