Welcome
In the heart of Tennessee, on the historic West Side of small town Cookeville, you will find our little plant shop + mercantile. The building was built in the early 1900’s. Originally home to a pharmacy, our fully restored DRUGS tile stoop gives a nod to our beginnings as you enter. The 100+ year old white hex tile floor, black tin ceiling, and exposed brick walls hold a lot of history and create the perfect aesthetic backdrop for our shop.
In our shop, you will find so much more than houseplants. We also have a large selection of plant care items, substrates, soil, tools, and houseplant-inspired gifts. At the front of the shop, we have a full European-style floral bar where you can build your own bouquet daily, or commission our designers to build something for you. We also offer deliveries for florals and plants within a 5 mile radius of the shop Monday-Friday! We host two Capsule Collections each year of “plant lady chic” styles we love! Each collection is chosen by Emma & Aspen, based of a specific theme, and we drop a Spring + Fall collection. Our shop is full of handmade items from local artists and curated gifts, handpicked by our owner. We also host A Podcast To Water Your Plants To, a weekly podcast about all things business and life at the shop. Oh, and we have a shop dog, Elsa! She’s the best part of every visit.
The concept behind Glass Tangerine is about so much more than retail. We are creating our own world, and creating a calm and loving space for each guest that enters. Every scent, sound and experience at the shop is curated to bring feelings of comfort, luxury and joy.
How it all started
Emma Here! Glass Tangerine is my brainchild, something that started as a random “wouldn’t that be fun one day” to “I think I am going to do it.”
Glass Tangerine was an idea rooting and growing for years before coming to life. Coming from private practice as a mental health therapist, I wanted to merge my creative self with the part of me that had spent so many years in the chair holding space for others. Being surrounded by beauty and intentionality was the ethos of what I wanted to create, and I think I nailed it.
Glass Tangerine is more than a store. It’s an experience! Shopping at Glass Tangerine is meant to be experienced as a joyful space. We can’t wait to see you!
