We Survived V-Day

Valentine’s Day is over, and baby, we made it. If you were one of the many people that came to see us and buy flowers on either Friday or even Saturday, you likely witnessed our severe lack of ability to do any mental math when ringing everyone up. Though our brains were completely shot by Friday night, we were so glad to see so many people pleased with our florals and the work we put into them. Erika asked us all at least once a minute if her arrangements looked okay while she was building them, so you know great care goes into every single one.

I’m not sure I can adequately explain how intense and often stressful the week of Valentine’s Day can be. The team stayed until almost midnight on Wednesday to prep and complete every single flower and preordered arrangement for the entire weekend, and they were back at seven the next morning. This was after two-thirds of our flower order was stuck in transit for an extra day, and we weren’t sure when they would actually arrive. (Yes, we were stressed.) The sheer number of flower buckets we had was enough to wonder if we had ordered too many, but naturally, we didn’t because y’all showed up and showed out!

A sincere thank you to everyone that supported us this V-Day, especially if you utilized our preorder. It was so helpful to have orders complete and ready for pickup and delivery, and everyone was fantastic about picking them up promptly. These are the processes that teach us how to improve for next year, and how we can offer more services even throughout the year to come! We were able to serve even more people than previous years due to the prep work Emma and Aspen did in setting up; this meant more happy people.

Look at these gorgeous preorders.

Doesn’t it just make you want one next year? ;)

People loved the True Love pop-up too! I got a leaf tattoo as my Valentine’s Day gift from Isaac, because what better way to celebrate than permanently inking my arm? I’m slowly collecting all the botanical tattoos possible…don’t tell my mom. (Just kidding she knows; she was only lightly disappointed. Love you, Mom.) All in all, super successful Valentine’s Day here at Glass Tangerine. I guess it’s time to start prepping for Mother’s Day…

Updates, News, and More…

  • We are so close to the big move! There is a lot of unknown right now with timing due to inspections this coming week to let us know if we’re good to move in, so follow along with Emma on our Instagram for concrete timelines and progress updates for our official soft open at the new space!

  • Elsa was quite upset I haven’t been updating everyone on what’s going on in her life. To appease the real boss of GT: She has been sleeping in sunbeams and following her nose after to-go boxes from all of her favorite places. (Everywhere) This week, she is wondering if it should be more socially acceptable to be directly in the middle of every conversation. Literally. She wants to sit directly in the middle. Let us know your thoughts.

  • Farm Update:

    • Seeds are started at the farm! Bobbie is diligently watching our baby sprouts poke up through the soil to get ready for planting. Spring is on the way!
