Secrets Out!
It’s incredibly difficult being a solid steel trap. Since late last year, it feels like all members of the GT team have been bursting at the seams with secrets threatening to spill at any moment. But we all really like our jobs, and some things just can’t be shared until it’s time. So what is the big news? What have I been posting about for weeks as reminders in the blog?
Surprise! We’re moving! After months of looking nice people directly in the eyes and lying, we can officially say we do know who is moving into our friend, Plenty the bookshop’s, previous space. Only a couple of doors down from our current storefront, we’re hoping it’s going to be the easiest build-out and move we’ve ever done! The team has been working on mood-boards and dreaming big with visions of the new space for months now, and we can’t wait to bring everyone along for the ride through our social media. Much like our farm and studio buildout, we will be regularly posting progress and update reels on Instagram so everyone can follow along, but those won’t be the only updates you’ll be getting this year…
The one and only Emma Crabtree, our fearless leader, is pregnant! Believe me, however surprised you might be, it is not as surprised as I was when she told me. She chose to tell me during a podcast meeting, casually, like she had simply said she was gonna run to Lowes or something. Bobbie had come to the meeting for the sole purpose of seeing my reaction. It was essentially just me going “What?..What?!..What?!”
We are ecstatic for the arrival of the Blueberry (the chosen nickname because at one time, he or she was the size of a blueberry), and of course this means change, lots of it! We want this to be as stress-free for Emma as possible, and with the build-out/move coming soon, a baby on the way, and the farm and studio getting into full swing, some things had to be paused to make time! The one major pause comes in the form of the podcast.
We love doing “A Podcast To Water Your Plants To,” and we’re not saying goodbye forever, but a big reason for my constant reminders to listen to the episode that dropped this morning is because it’s going to be the last one for a while. Part of the reason we started this blog was the knowledge that we would no longer be dropping a weekly podcast and still wanted to connect with you! So please go listen to today’s episode for a much more in-depth discussion of all the big news (and our typical chaos). We recorded last year when we finished with the Christmas episodes, and we have finally released it.
So, there’s the news. I can finally stop having to keep all the secrets straight. I am definitely going to sleep well tonight. Truly, we are so excited for this season of life at the shop.
